Micromath ® Online Privacy Policy
Micromath ® is committed to protecting your privacy.
You can visit most pages on our Web site without giving us
any information about yourself. But sometimes we need information
to provide products or services that you request, and this privacy
statement explains data collection and use in those situations.
1. How we use and collect your information
We will not sell or rent your personal contact information to other companies. We will not disclose your personal contact information to other companies, except in the limited manner and for the limited purposes described below.
Micromath's Web site has several forms and additional collection methods that may require you to provide contact, payment and other information.
The Micromath Store uses an order form to collect contact information and payment information (such as credit card numbers). The contact information is used to ship your order, to send you promotional material about our company, or, if necessary, to get in touch with you. The payment information is only used to bill you for the products you ordered or to process returns.
When you buy and install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. We keep this registration information on file with any information you've already given us on previous visits to our Web site.
Micromath may also collect certain information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include, but not be limited to: your IP address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times and referring Web site addresses. When you visit Micromath's Web site, one or more cookies may be placed on (or read from) your machine if your browser is set to accept cookies. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser. These cookies do not store any personal information on your hard drive; they only store a small code that is used to maintain current session data, to gather broad demographic information, and to help analyze Web site traffic. Micromath may use such non-personal information for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, market research, and improving the content of our Web site.
A cookie may also be used when you enter the Access Login area of the Web site. This cookie pre-populates forms for your convenience, plus it enables you to look up your license information, get quotes, etc. This cookie contains a simple code, which is used solely by our Web server every time you enter the Access Login area from your computer.
We use contact information to send promotional material about our company and products, and, in some cases, on behalf of related third-party products and services. If you have purchased our software or requested information, we may use this information to notify you of new products, updates, or other information related to your purchases. You may choose not to receive this additional information.
Micromath uses current and past user information internally within Micromath and with its subsidiaries, partners, service providers, and authorized distributors in order to provide users with support, service, promotional and/or other product information.
We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, mailing and sending postal mail and processing event registration. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
Micromath may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Micromath or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Micromath and its family of Web sites, or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Micromath employees, users of Micromath products or services, or members of the public.
Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Micromath or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
2. How we protect your information
Micromath is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide in computer servers with limited access located in controlled facilities.
Micromath's Store has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the order information under our control. We use industry-standard security measures called SSL encryption. Encryption helps protect your credit card number and personal information by scrambling the data in transit to Micromath. We encrypt every order. If you would prefer to give your information by telephone, you may call 1.800.942.6284.
3. How to remove your name from mailing lists and/or update your information
